Catherine is a Senior Legal Counsel who provides independent strategic legal and commercial advice to businesses of all sizes across various industries, supporting their day-to-day operations and business functions.

With over 20 years of experience in government departments and commercial enterprises, Catherine possesses adaptable skills and mature commercial acumen. Her unique ability to navigate both government and commercial sectors allows her to manage risks and add value to complex matters by aligning advice with broader business strategies.

Prior to joining Source, Catherine worked as corporate counsel at Water NSW where she led major water infrastructure projects. She has also worked at global engineering firm Norman Disney Young (now Tetra Tech), Woolworths, Rail Corporation (now Syndey Trains) and Clayton Utz.

 

Expertise

Catherine has experience advising on all aspects of commercial law, with a focus on:

  • Advising on complex projects
  • Identifying and advising on projects and commercial risks and working with businesses to devise solutions to manage and mitigate the risks
  • Preparation and negotiation of general and bespoke contracts with numerous stakeholders and clients;
  • Advising and supporting the procurement of resources and materials; and
  • Providing training to businesses on legal issues affecting their businesses.

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Law
  • Bachelor of Arts (Psychology & Education)

 

Get to know Catherine

Catherine loves to volunteer and give back to her community. She volunteers with St Johns Ambulance Service as a first aider and a dog walker with her local animal rescue facility. Recently she has begun volunteering with the SES.
