Karthik Venkataraman has joined HPX Group as the new CEO of our tailored in-house style professional services business, Source.
Karthik brings to Source 20 years’ experience in strategy, customer and digital transformation roles, spanning professional services, publicly listed, private-equity owned, asset-intensive, highly regulated and technology sector organisations. He has worked for several high-profile businesses including Booz Allen Hamilton, Deloitte, Qualtrics, Citation Group, Asciano and Ausgrid. Karthik’s experiences offer a 360-degree perspective on navigating business challenges and growth, having been involved in IPO readiness, government regulation, M&A, procurement, commercialisation, service delivery and management, digital and customer transformation, strategy development and execution.
Source provides clients with access to flexible, on-demand managed service solutions for essential in-house functions, across legal, human resources, intellectual property, governance, compliance and risk. Source professionals are available across Australia and New Zealand on a retainer or project basis to act as the ongoing in-house team or as an extension of a company’s in-house team – fulfilling needs in capacity and capability for business-as-usual operations.
Karthik said he was attracted to the opportunity to lead a business that is a market disrupter and innovator. “Source has taken the key drivers of customer value from various delivery models to create an in-house style managed services business that’s truly one-of-a-kind in the market. Our Source professionals are all leaders in their respective fields, and I’m looking forward to working with them as we continue to evolve Source’s offering and unlock its full potential.”
HPX Group CEO Nick Humphrey said Karthik’s broad-ranging experience and approach to driving business improvement made him an excellent fit for Source, and the wider HPX Group. “Karthik has proven himself to be an exceptionally capable leader in a range of business contexts and roles. We’re really pleased he has accepted the Source CEO role and will help take the business to the next level.”
Key to Source’s next phase of growth will be leveraging technology, integrating existing services, broadening offerings and building deeper solutions in target markets, all to make it easier for businesses to access and embed Source’s services across their multiple and varying needs. New services are already underway / in the pipeline in response to growing demand from clients, such as ESG reporting and infrastructure project management.
Source’s business philosophy also resonates with Karthik. “I believe in cultivating an exceptional people experience, a focus on continuous improvement and innovation at the heart of business growth, and decision-making driven by a focus on empathy and value for the customer – all core to Source’s competitive edge in the market,” he said.
As part of HPX Group, an AFR Fast 100 company, Source has experienced exceptional year-on-year revenue growth (a 205% increase since FY23), as it responds to growing demand from organisations – particularly those in highly-regulated sectors – for the type of high calibre, on-demand, flexible and commercially attractive resourcing solutions Source is uniquely placed to provide.
